Watch short lessons

You move through bite-sized lessons that focus on one skill at a time. Each lesson is easy to replay when you want a quick refresher before you practice or start the next module.

Follow equipment demos

You watch step-by-step equipment demonstrations and copy what you see. We show what to set up, what to look for, and common mistakes to avoid so you can practice with confidence.

Check your progress

At the end of each module, you complete a short quiz to confirm you understand the key points. You can review any lesson again and continue at your own pace, on your schedule.

Meet the Instructor

Michael Roper, LEED AP

For more than 20 years, I've worked in Building Automation Systems and commercial HVAC—from field service and startup to engineering, commissioning, estimating, project management, sales and technical instruction.

I created Applied Learning Systems because too much BAS training teaches software without explaining how systems actually work in the field. My goal is simple: help technicians build practical skills they can apply on the very next job.

This course combines clear electrical explanations with real equipment demonstrations and practical troubleshooting examples. My goal is to help you understand what you’re testing, why it matters, and how to apply it in the field.

If you can understand it, troubleshoot it, and explain it on a jobsite, you've truly learned it.
